IDEX 2015 launches locally designed e-registration system

ABU DHABI, 26th February 2015: The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) yesterday announced that this year’s registration process was supported by a new electronic registration system. The online portal ensured an efficient and streamlined approval and evaluation process for all distinguished exhibitors and partners.
A team of specialist Emirati engineers designed the e-registration system, which was also installed by the Ministry of Interior (MOI).
Commenting on the IT solution, Saleh Al Marzooqi, Chief Executive Officer at IDEX, stated, "The new electronic registration system has proven to be extremely effective during the current edition of IDEX. I would like to personally thank the Ministry of Interior which always provides us with continuous support and the latest facilities to ensure all of the activities run smoothly – leading up to and during the show, which is greatly needed due to thousands of visitors we receive." Commenting on the new e-registration tool, Brigadier Faris Al Farisis, Head of Joint Events Committee, reinforced the hard-word and dedication of the IT development team to launch the service for this year’s IDEX.
Engineer Mohammad Al Kaabi led a local team of technology developers to help build the online portal that would help to overcome the difficulties and frustrations seen in previous years.
The new system provides a localised and sophisticated database for the exhibition, which assists in filtering and segmenting visitor details, as well as saving down visitor information for a particular show to save duplicating sign-up details. The system ensures that issuing visitor passes and guest badges is efficient, saving the time spent by staff members to better other services and facilities on offer during IDEX.
Mohammad Al Kaabi, engineer and director of the electronic registration system added, "The new system, which was tried during the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and officially used during the 2014 tournament, works to structure all data attributed to the hundreds of thousands of local and international attendees attracted to the sporting event." It is expected that the number of visitors to IDEX 2015 will break all records, reaching more than 80,000 in addition to thousands of exhibitors, media guests and show organisers. – Emirates News Agency, WAM –
