MISSING BRITISH MAN FOUND ON HILLSLOPE
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- A British citizen, who was reported missing after he failed to return home from a birthday party Sunday, was found dead on a hillslope behind a bungalow in Ukay Heights, Ampang, at about 5.30pm Monday.
Ampang district police chief ACP Abd Jalil Hassan said Andrew (Andy) Edward
Goddard was reported missing by his wife when he failed to return home in Subang
after attending the party at the Ukay Bayu condominium, near Jalan Tebrau,
Ampang Jaya on Saturday.
The couple was said to have gone to the party together, but the wife left
earlier while Goddard was believed to have left the condominium at about 6am
Sunday.
"However, when he still failed to return home at 7pm (Sunday), the wife
lodged a missing person's report on her husband," Abd Jalil said when contacted
today.
He said police, with the help of two tracker dogs and 15 General
Operations
Force members on duty at the site of the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide, then
searched the area and found the victim, an engineer with an oil company, at the
steep hillslope.
He believed Goddard slipped and fell from the hillslope after leaving the
condominium.
"The footage of a closed-circuit television recording at the condominium
showed that the man was walking in an unsteadily manner while leaving the
condominium," he added.
Police classified the case as sudden death.
The body was sent to the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital.
