CHINESE VICE PREMIER TO VISIT RI FOR ENERGY FORUM
Beijing, Dec. 16 (ANTARA) - Chinese Vice Prime Minister Li Keqiang is scheduled to make an official visit to Indonesia, December 20-23, 2008, to attend the Third RI-China Energy Forum.
"Vice Premier Keqiang is to visit Indonesia at the invitation of Vice President M Jusuf Kalla to attend an energy forum," said Liu Jianchao, a spokesman of the Chinese foreign affairs ministry, at a regular press conference, here on Tuesday.
During his visit in Indonesia, Keqiang will hold meetings with several high ranking officials including President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and Vice President M Jusuf Kalla to discuss issues on bilateral relations between the two countries.
The ministry's spokesman said that the two states have established sound relations and signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in 2005.
The strategic cooperation has helped strengthen the bilateral ties between both nations, he said.
"Indonesia is one of the strategic partners of China, and the two countries have strategic cooperation which can improve the bilateral relations," he said.
The strategic cooperation agreement signed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and President Hu Jintao could become a promotion means for mutual beneficial cooperation not only for both states but also for the people in the region, he said.
