PRESIDENT HANDS FOOD RESILIENCE AWARDS TO GOVERNORS
Jakarta, Dec 18 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono handed National Rice Production Improvement (P2BN) and Food Resilience awards to a number of governors and district heads at the State Palace here on Thursday afternoon.
The 16 governors who received the award were Central Kalimantan Governor Teras Narang, Jambi Governor Zulkifli Nurdin, South Kalimantan Governor Rudy Ariffin, North Sulawesi Governor Sarundajang, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Governor Irwandi Yusuf, North Sumatra Governor Syamsul Arifin, Bengkulu Governor Agusrin Najamudin, South Sumatra Governor Mahyuddin NS, Lampung Governor Syansuria Ryacudu, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan, West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis, Central Sulawesi Governor Bandjela Paliudju, South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Southeast Sulawesi Governor Nur Alam, Maluku Governor Karel Albert Ralahalu, and West Sumatra Governor Gamawan Fauzi.
President Yudhoyono also handed similar awards to 129 district heads, among others Sidoarjo district head Win Hendarso, and Gunung Kidul district head Suharto.
In addition, eight rice researchers also received the award from the president in relation with rice production and food resilience. The researchers who received the award were among others Aan Andang Drajat of the Sukamandi Rice Research Center, and Sania Saenong of the Maros Cereals Research Center in South Sulawesi.
President Yudhoyono would also give the award to 19 agribusiness groups for food plants, 24 agribusiness group for horticulture, 20 agribusiness group for animal husbandry, five farmer groups for micro water management, nine groups for plantation development, four groups of after-harvest business makers, and four agricultural product managing groups across Indonesia.
