MS HIDAYAT EXPECTED TO BE REELECTED AS KADIN CHIEF
Jakarta, Dec 18 (ANTARA) - Mohammad Sulaeman Hidayat is expected to be reelected as chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) at Kadin's National Meeting on December 21-23, 2008, the meeting's chief organizer said.
Chairman of the National Meeting Committee Anindya Bakri said here on Thursday that MS Hidayat had been tipped as the sole candidate for the chamber's chairmanship for the 2009-2013 period.
"We will nominate him again not because we have no other qualified candidates but because we have agreed to do so as a token of the business circles' solidarity," Anindya said.
Hidayat was elected chairman of Kadin to continue the leadership of his predecessor Aburizal Bakrie (now chief minister for people's welfare) who led the organization in the 1999-2004 period.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to open Kadin's national meeting at the Jakarta Convention Center on Sunday while it will be closed by Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
About 700 participants including directors general from related departments, members of Kadin's advisory council, members of its executive board and representatives of Kadin's provincial, district and city branches are expected to attend the national meeting. ***2***
