Prince Sultan bin Fahd to launch first Saudi Car race
Riyadh, December 18, SPA -- Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz,
General President of Youth Welfare and President of the Saudi Olympic
Committee will patronize on Friday afternoon the launching of the
first official Motor Sports, the first round, for the Super Cup of
the cars on Reem International Circuit organized by Saudi 'Sabaq'
Company at Al-Muzahmeyah, 55km South-west of Riyadh.
As many as 11 rare and unprecedented cars manufactured specifically
for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Saudi drivers on the wheel will
race on Reem International Circuit of the 3.8 kilometer circuit,
comprising several smaller ones, primarily the 1.2 kilometer karting
track, the 1.4 kilometer drag strip and an off-road track which are
all incompliance with international motor sport tournaments and
according to international standards.
Five teams will compete in the first round including Mobily
Al-Faisal, Selli, Algosaibi, Zein and Alesayi.
On the sidelines of the first round of the tournament, fly Gliders
and exhibition of cars and motorcycles racing on the track will be
presented.
Saudi television Sport Channel will broadcast the event live which
will be attended by a number of personalities of motor sport events.
