BI`S BUDGET SURPLUS IN 2008 AMOUNTS TO RP16 TRILLION
Jakarta, Dec 19 (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia (BI /the central bank) has an audited budget surplus of Rp16 trillion in 2008, its deputy governor Ardhayadi said.
"The BI budget surplus is about Rp16 trillion. It has not yet been audited by the State Audit Board (BPK)," he said here on Friday.
He said that the surplus had included the estimated losses suffered from the closing down of BI's subsidiary, Indover Bank in the Netherlands.
"We have taken into account losses suffered from the closure of Indover Bank," he said.
The deputy chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR)'s Commission XI, which deals with financial affairs, said with the surplus, BI was subjected to a 28 percent income tax next year.***
