TCA Abu Dhabi and partners exhibit at WTM Africa 2015

ABU DHABI, 27th April, 2015 (WAM) -- Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, has showcased Abu Dhabi Emirate as a key destination for the first time to the South African Travel industry at the World Travel Market 2015, which was recently held in Cape Town.
TCA Abu Dhabi, along with key partners such as Etihad Airways and Oryx Tourism, took full advantage of the opening of its new office in South Africa by hosting a stand at the event dedicated to promoting the emirate to the wider African market.
TCA Abu Dhabi also welcomed Hamad Hareb Al-Habsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa, to the Abu Dhabi stand for a special visit.
South Africa represents the latest target tourism market for the UAE capital, which recently appointed Johannesburg-based Development Promotions, a specialist travel representation agency, to position it as a preferred destination in that market.
The establishment of a TCA Abu Dhabi office in South Africa follows the launch of daily South African Airways morning flights between Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi, adding additional air capacity to a daily evening frequency already operated by Etihad Airways.
The commercial and codeshare partnership between SAA and Etihad Airways will also enable passengers to experience both of these excellent carriers on any trip to Abu Dhabi.
South African travellers will be exposed to Abu Dhabi’s incredible diversity as a stopover, cruising, cultural, sports, family, wellness and shopping destination.
The South African office’s marketing and promotional effort will also raise awareness of Saadiyat Island’s Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, as well as the development of the new Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal and Abu Dhabi International Airport's new midfield terminal complex.
"With our sights also firmly set on the travel trade, and the meetings and incentive markets, the new office will offer a full service to our trade partners to assist them in showcasing the destination through training sessions and joint marketing partnerships with key travel agents, tour operators, PCOs and incentive houses, as well as host a range of familiarisation tours for both media and trade," said Mubarak Al Nuaimi, TCA Abu Dhabi’s Director Promotions and Overseas Offices. "We will showcase the destination’s diversity through a series of exciting consumer and trade activations." – Emirates News Agency, WAM –http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395279732891.html
