Al-Naimi addresses London Energy Ministers Meeting

London, December 19, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today
asserted that the generous commitment of the United Kingdom to host
the energy ministers meeting in London building on Saudi Arabia's
work of the meeting in Jeddah six months ago which was called by the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud
is most timely.

This came in a speech delivered by Eng. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi,
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia, at London Energy Ministers Meeting held in the British
capital today.

Following is the text of Al-Naimi's speech:
"The generous commitment of the United Kingdom to host this energy
meeting building on Saudi Arabia's work of the meeting in Jeddah six
months ago which was called by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is most timely. We welcome this
opportunity to continue the process of dialogue that began in June,
as we explore the energy sector's response to a global financial and
economic crisis the likes of which have not been seen in decades.
Stakeholders everywhere must commit to communication and cooperation
as the first course of action. We also hope that the Jeddah and
London ad-hoc meetings will be followed up by the next host of the
IEF Ministerial meeting in Mexico in 2010 to further expand and
continue this vital dialogue.
