BOROBUDUR TEMPLE PRESERVATION INSEPARABLE FROM ITS SURROUNDINGS
Magelang, C Java, Dec 19 (ANTARA) - The effort to preserve the Buddhist Borobudur Temple was inseparable to the development of its surrounding areas, a spokesman said.
"The effort to preseve Borobudur Temple should be related to its surroundings since its presence is inseparable from people living in the vicinity," one of the organizers of the Borobudur community "Warung Info Jagad Cleguk", Sucoro, said here Friday.
According to Sucoro, people who live in villages around Borobudur which is considered as a world heritage were the younger generation who built the giant Buddhist shrine which has been in existence since the Syailendra dynasty age in the eighth century.
