Saudi Arabia urges care for Arab political issues at Vienna

SPAV- He pointed out that the conference is an extension of the
recommendations of the Arab-European Ministerial Conference hosted by
the Republic of Malta in February 2008, which called for the revival
of Arab-European cooperation and making preparations for the
restructuring, development and creation of mechanisms that would
ensure continuity and comprehensiveness, stressing the importance of
continuing dialogue between the member countries of the Arab league
and the European Union as the best way towards cooperation and
rapprochement among nations and peoples, and to highlight the true
image of cultures, and bring about the removal of the accumulated
barriers of misunderstanding and ideas and prejudices, promote
tolerance and understanding. "This is confirmed and supported by the
fact that we can not avoid each other in such a small planet we live
in."

In his speech, Dr Nizar Madani said "It does not take much
imagination to see and learn about numerous accomplishments we can
achieve by consolidating a culture of positive and fruitful dialogue
between our nations and our peoples, extending bridges of
communication between our youth and our societies in all categories
and components and governmental and civil institutions".


In addition to issues on the agenda of this conference, he stressed
that there are many other areas of multi-European-Arab cooperation
that would support and develop understanding between our nations,
most importantly, cooperation in the fields of trade, investment,
technical, educational, cultural and media, with an emphasis on ways
to develop cooperation in these areas through willingness of openness
to each others, renounce fanaticism, overcome the influence of
stereotyped ideas and concepts. This can be achieved through
encouragement of constructive dialogue, taking into account the
principle of mutual respect for the specificities, circumstances and
conditions of each county.
