UniMAP Wins Major Awards At Euroinvent 2015 In Romania

KANGAR (Perlis, Malaysia), May 19 (Bernama) - Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) won nine gold and five silver medals to emerge major winners at the European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation (Euroinvent 2015) in Iasi, Romania from May 14-16. Dr Noorhafiza Muhammad of the Geopolymer and Green Technology (CEGeoGTech) Centre of Excellence won the Euroinvent 2015 Woman Researcher special award. "This success is the second year for women researchers of UniMAP," said UniMAP Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Kamarudin Hussin in an email Monday. Other gold medal winners were Dr Norazian Mohamed Noor, Assoc Prof Dr Zainab Othman, Nazmizan Muhammad and Dr Heah Cheng Yong. Four other gold medal winners were Dr Mohd Sazli Saad, Irfan Abdul Rahim, Muhammad Faridzuan Rosli and Norshah Afizi Shuaib. Irfan won the Gheorghe Asachi Special Award for his product, 'A New Design Thermoacoustic Energy Converter '(WH2E). Nazmizan won the Croatia Special Award with his 'Impregnated Wood For Sport Application' while Heah won the Poland Special Award for his 'THERMOGUARD.' -- BERNAMA
