Indonesia to send six delegates to Youth Ag-Summit

Jakarta, June 11 (Antara) -- Indonesia will send a six-member delegation to the Youth Ag-Summit, CEO of Bayer CropScience Liam Condon said in a press release received by Antara here on Thursday. Organized by Future Farmer Network Australia and Bayer CropScience, the event will be held from August 24 to 28 in Canberra, Australia. "The summit is an opportunity to broaden others' opinions to make participants better persons and help them develop their knowledge," he added. According to Condon, young leaders should be involved in all efforts to find solutions for sustainable agriculture to meet the world's need for safe and nutritious foods. Indonesia is one of the 33 countries that will participate in the event. Among the others are the United States, Canada, France, Germany, China, India, South Africa, Kenya, the Philippines, New Zealand and Australia. 'Feeding the Hungry Planet' is the theme chosen for the Youth Ag-Summit 2015. The six Indonesian delegates are Amanda Kharisma, Azwar Annas, Dendy Primanandi Rudi Rifani, Muhammad Iqbal Mirzal, Febri Arista, and Amrina Alhumaira. At the event, the participants will identify, connect, and create new ideas for the advancement of agriculture worldwide. These collaborative approaches aim to give the delegates applied ideas for when they return to their respective countries. Bayer CropScience Indonesia, which is one of the main partners of the summit, will accommodate the six youths with company-assisted farmers so they can learn the current challenges that farmers in Indonesia still face.
