Beijing, Dec. 23 (ANTARA) - A delegation of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) currently on a visit to China, left Beijing for Kunming, Yunnan Province, southern China, on Tuesday.

"Our working visit in Kunming is basically similar to that in Beijing, namely to meet local legislators and share information and experiences with them," Ginandjar Kartasasmita, head of the DPD delegation, said here before proceeding to Yunnan.

The DPD members during a two-day working visit will hold a meeting with the chairman of the Kunming CPPCC (Chinese People's Consultative Conference).

Kartasasmita said that the bilateral relations between China and Indonesia so far has been very sound in various fields including in the political, defense, security, social, culture and economic sectors.

He suggested that Indonesia's provinces and Chinese's provinces establish "sister province cooperation" to strengthen ties between the local administrations and peoples.

In Beijing, the DPD delegation held meetings with among others, NPC Chairman Wu Bangguo, CPPCC Chairman Jia Qinglin, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC Bai Lichen, and Chairman of the Beijing Committee of CPPCC Yang Anjiang.
