Russia, Brazil leaders to discuss bilateral issues in Ufa

MOSCOW, July 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Brazilian counterpart Dilma Rousseff will discuss the potential for expanding trade and economic ties, cultural cooperation and sports, including the 2016 Olympics in Rio-de-Janeiro and the 2018 Football World Cup in Russia, in Ufa on July 9, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said on Monday.
"During the upcoming talks the leaders will discuss key issues of bilateral cooperation, including the potential for expanding trade and economic ties," he said, adding that Brazil is Russia’s largest trade partner in Latin America by trade turnover ($6.3 billion in 2014).
The Kremlin says cultural ties are also actively developing. In the near future, Russia is planning to take part in bilateral student exchange programmes, Ushakov said.
The presidential aide noted that sports is also high on the agenda, with the upcoming 2016 Olympics in Rio-de-Janeiro and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk and Summer Universiade in Brasilia.
