PRESIDENT YUDHOYONO ON WORKING VISIT IN NORTH SULAWESI

Menado, North Sulawsi, Dec. 25 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono arrived at Sam Ratulangi International Airport, here on Thursday for a two-day working visit in North Sulawesi Province.
The Head of State is scheduled to attend a Christmas celebration at Bumi Beringin gubernatorial residence on Thursday evening.
During his stay in Manado, President Yudhoyono is also expected to have a close look at preparations for the World Ocean Conference to be held in Manado in May 2009.
Coinciding with the World Ocean Conference (WOC), a Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) Summit will also be organized in Manado, on May 11-15, 2009.
The CTI will be attended by six foreign affairs ministers, respectively from Indonesia, the Philippines, Solomon Island, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea (PNG), and Timor Leste.
Last Wednesday (Dec. 24), President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was on a one-day working visit in Gresik, East Java, to attend the peak event of the 9th Nusantara Day commemoration.
The Nusantara Day is observed to commemorate Djuanda Declaration on December 13, 1957, which was the beginning of struggle to declare the whole lands and seas of Indonesia's islands as a definite jurisdiction of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
