Seoul to sell up to 6.77 tln won in Treasuries next month
SEOUL, Dec. 26 (Yonhap) -- The government plans to sell state bonds worth up to 6.77 trillion won (US$5.21 billion) in January, the finance ministry said Friday.
The ministry said it will sell 2.25 trillion won in three-year Treasuries, 2.54
trillion won in five-year Treasuries and 800 billion won worth of 10-year
government bonds next month. It also plans to issue 300 billion won worth of
20-year state debts.
An additional 883 billion won worth of bonds could also be auctioned, depending
on market conditions, the ministry said.
The government is to issue a maximum of 74.3 trillion won worth Treasuries next
year. Detailed plans for the 2009 bond issuance, including a timetable, will be
announced on Jan. 12, according to the ministry.
