AWARD FOR INDONESIAN HINDU LEADERS
Denpasar, Dec 26 (ANTARA) - The Young Hindu Award Committee again awarded Hindu leaders engaged in education, government, culture, health care and the environment.
"They received the award after a strict selection by a team formed by the committee," said event coordinator I Gusti Ayu Diah Werdhi Srikandi said here Friday.
She said that the award was an independent appreciation given annually to seek some Hindu leaders who would be recorded in Hindu history in Indonesia.
In the last seven years, in the 2000-2007 period the Young Hindu Award Committee, has awarded 46 figures and two Hindu Institutions considered meritorious in many aspects of life.
Ayu Diah said that the award was given for services and dedication in helping fellow man.
The award was expected to arouse young leaders to express and show good performance which could benefit their religion, nation, and country, Ayu Diah said.
