HM King ratifies, issues Law 19/2015

Manama, Aug. 6 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today ratified and issued Law 19/2015 amending Article (5) of Law 57/2006 on the establishment of the Labour Fund. Under the amendment, clause (A) of Article (5) of Law 57/2006 will be as follows: A. The Fund will have a Board of Directors comprising nine members, including the chairman, appointed as per a decree. 1. Two members nominated by the cabinet. 2. One member nominated by the Economic Development Board. 3. Three members selected among candidates nominated by the Bahrain Chamber of commerce and Industry. 4. A member selected among candidates nominated by the Bahrain Bankers Society. 5. Two members selected among candidates nominated by the trade unions of Bahraini workers, provided that they are Bahrainis who pay their contributions in accordance with the provisions of the Social Insurance Law issued by Decree-Law 24/1976. The list of nominees mentioned in items (3), (4) and (5) shall be submitted to the Cabinet which will choose the representatives of each party. Nominees shall meet the fairness and competence requirements and have the necessary experience.
