Speaker condemns Abha terror bombing

Manama, Aug 6 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has condemned the terror bombing that targeted a Special Emergency Forces' mosque in Abha, Asir region in Saudi Arabia that killed 12 military men and three workers and injured others. The Speaker underlined stance of Bahrain's leadership, let by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, government and people against attempts to undermine the security and stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in general and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular. He said that any attack that targets a GCC country is a direct attack on Bahrain. He highlighted the total rejection of all acts of terrorism and called for reinforcing national unity to confront it. He stressed the Council of Representatives' denunciation of such cowardly terror attacks, which is in violation of religious principles, laws and human values. The Speaker hailed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in combating terrorism, expressing support for all measures to be taken to maintain the kingdom's security and stability, calling on GCC and international parliaments to condemn terrorism. He offered condolences to his Saudi counterpart Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Shaikh, the Saudi government and people and the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
