ITU honour for HRH Premier

Manama, Aug. 6 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa will receive a major prize from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in tribute for his outstanding role in achieving sustainable development goals at the local and international levels and fast-tracking Bahrain’s development in Information Technology and telecommunication. The high profile Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Sustainable Development Award will be granted to HRH the Prime Minister at a celebration at the United Nations headquarters in New York on September 26, marking the 150th anniversary of ITU. HRH the Premier received an invitation from ITU Secretary General Houlin Zhao who described the award as an assertion of HRH the Prime Minister’s remarkable contributions to availing of ICT in achieving sustainable development. The ITU Secretary General affirmed that HRH the Premier’s personal presence to receive the prize would serve as an inspiration to many officials in the world to dedicate themselves to stimulating innovation and providing technological solutions to meet the aspirations of people.
