WHIRLWIND DAMAGES HOUSES IN POSO, C. SULAWESI
Palu, Indonesia, Dec. 27 (ANTARA) - Whirlwind damaged a number of houses at Amporiwo village, South Pamona subdistrict, Poso District, Central Sulawesi, on Friday.
At least 18 houses were seriously damaged by the whirlwind, according to Sin Singo, head of the Poso social service office, in Poso, on Saturday.
There was no report of causalities in the disaster, which inflicted material losses.
"No body was killed or injured in the disaster," Singo said.
The strong wind also uprooted several trees.
Upon receiving a report on the disaster, Poso Deputy District Head Thalib Rimi visited the village which was affected by the whirlwind, and presented relief aid to the victims.
