Organisation of Islamic Cooperation condemns attack on UAE Embassy in Yemen

JEDDAH, 20th August, 2015 (WAM) -- The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, has strongly condemned the attack on the UAE embassy in Sana’a by Houthi militias, saying that the occupation of the UAE Embassy is a flagrant violation and breach of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and international law which protect the inviolability of diplomatic missions, which applies to all. The Saudi Press Agency, SPA, quote Iyad bin Amin, the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, as saying, ''There must be an urgent evacuation of the UAE Embassy occupiers ensuring its return to his staff, according to the international conventions of respect and immunity of diplomatic missions which are accredited in all countries.''
