GCC Foreign Ministers conclude preparatory meeting
Muscat, December 29, SPA -- The Foreign Ministers of the member
countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) concluded Sunday
evening a meeting of the Ministerial Council to prepare for the GCC
leaders summit, scheduled to take place here tomorrow.
The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meeting was
led by Prince Saud Alfaisal, the Foreign Minister.
In a press statement following the meeting, the Omani Minister
Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah spoke on
the developments in Gaza, stressing the GCC countries' support for
the Palestinian people.
Responding to a question by Saudi Press Agency on whether the
agenda of the summit was amended due to the developments in Gaza,
Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdulrahman
Al-Atiyyah said, "The agenda of the meeting was finalized earlier,
but the GCC countries are greatly concerned with the latest
developments in the Palestinian territories."
