GCC summit begins 2 Muscat

Then, Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman delivered a speech in which he
welcomed the GCC leaders and stressed determination to maintain gains
attained by the GCC countries and peoples and work for more
comprehensive development programs.

Speaking on the world financial situation, the Sultan of Oman
highlighted the importance of working with international parties to
correct the situation and restore economic and social development.

Afterwards, the opening session turned into a closed-door session.
