Oil pipeline blown up in Sana'a
SANA'A, Dec. 29 (Saba) - Firefighters are tackling a fire that broke out on an oil pipeline stretching from Marib to Sana'a, security sources have said.
Black smoke billowed into the sky over the Khowlan district in Sana'a from the fire
that broke out on the pipeline transporting large quantities of crude oil from the
Safir oil field in Marib to the Ras Esa area at the Red Sea.
The alsahwa-yemen.net quoted the sources as saying a bomb could have caused the
fire, but none was blamed as the sources said unknown persons blew off the bomb.
The incident took place on Sunday at 7:30 AM.
Police director in the area Abdu Esmail said an investigation has been launched.
He said the pipeline was badly damaged, adding perpetrators of such sabotage acts
must be punished.
