FIVE DEMONSTRATIONS IN JAKARTA TO PROTEST AGAINST ISRAELI AIR RAID

Jakarta, Dec 30 (ANTARA) - Five groups of demonstrators in Jakarta have planned to march on Tuesday in protest against the Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip that have killed more than 300 people in Palestinian territory.

According to information from the Jakarta Police's Traffic Management center, the first wave of protesters would hit the capital city from 8 to 11:30 on Tuesday morning
It said the first rally would be staged in front of the Egyptian embassy on Teuku Umar street in Central Jakarta.

Then from 12 noon until 3 p.m., the second group of protesters from Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia would march to the United States embassy on Merdeka Selatan street, to the Egyptian embassy, the Iranian embassy, the Lebanese embassy, and the Jordanian embassy to voice their protest against the Israeli air strikes on Gaza Strip.

The massive air offensive launched Saturday in response to Hamas-fired rockets, has killed over 300 Palestinian civilians and wounded more than 1,000 others.

Three other groups of protesters at the same time on Tuesday would also stage rallies but with different purposes.

Starting from 8 a.m., they would make orations in front of State Administrative Reforms Ministry office on Senopati street in South Jakarta, and then move to National Education Ministry office on Sudirman street, and end their action at the Parliament building in Senayan area.

And then from 9 a.m. similar rally would be conducted at Supreme Court office on Merdeka Utara street, and continue to Home Affairs Ministry office on the same street, then finish at General Election Commission (KPU) office on Imam Bonjol street, Central Jakarta.

Finally, the protesters would stage the rally at the State Palace from 1 p.m. until 5 in the evening on Tuesday.
