PRESIDENT YUDHOYONO TO ATTEND MASS PRAYER GATHERING
Jakarta, Dec 30 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyno and First Lady Ani Yudhoyoyono are scheduled to attend mass prayer gathering at Istiqlal Grand Mosque on Tuesday to observe Islamic New Year 1430 Hijriyah.
On the occasion, Prof Quraish Shihab would deliver a lecture titled "With the Spirit of Hijriyah, We Can Improve the National Quality in the Future."
The mass prayer gathering would be conducted on Tuesday morning to commemorate Islamic New Year and and to pray for the national security and safety all through the year 2009.
The program at Istiqlal Mosque was scheduled to start at 9 and finish at about 11 a.m., but since 7 in the morning the thousands of people had converged at the mosque yard.
Besides President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyohno, a number of United Indonesia Cabinet ministers and Jakarta provincial administration officials would also attend the gathering.
