OBSERVER: DON'T LET ISRAEL'S BARBARIC ACTIONS CONTINUE
Jakarta, Dec. 30 (ANTARA) - The world must not allow Israel's barbaric actions against Palestine to continue, according to Hasanuddin, former chairman of the Indonesian Muslim University Students (HMI) and a political observer, said here on Tuesday.
"If world leaders cannot punish Israel for its barbaric and sadistic actions against civilians in the Gaza Strip, they had better stop talking about respect for human rights," he told ANTARA.
For whatever reasons they were launched, the Israeli attacks cannot be forgiven, he said.
On a separate occasion, Anas Urbaningrum, who is also former HMI chairman, said here on Tuesday, the continuing brutal and sadistic actions of Israel were one of the root causes of the emergence of international terrorism.
"Israeli terrorist actions are the field as well as the fertilizer of the growth of global terrorism," said Urbaningrum who is also an executive of the Democrat Party.
He said the Israeli attacks which killed more than 300 Palestinians and injured over 1,000 others, was concrete proof that Israel was a brutal and sadistic terrorist nation.
He called on the United Nations to impose sanctions against Israel.
"The United Nations has been tolerating Israel's arrogance and brutality for too long," Urbaningrum said.
