LAND AGENCY TO ACCELERATE LEGALIZATION OF LAND OWNED BY MILITARY

Jakarta, Dec 30 (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Defense (Dephan) and the National Land Agency (BPN) have agreed to speed up the legalization process of lands under the management of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) and Dephan.

BPN Chief Joko Wiyoto after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between BPN and Dephan said here on Tuesday that the acceleration of the legalization process was urgent because so far only 10 percent of lands owned by the TNI/Dephan had certificates.

Dephan and BPN have agreed to solve the certificate problem of lands under the management of TNI/Dephan in 15 years.

Dephan/TNI own lands which cover 3.6 million sq m, of which only 371 thousand hectares have already been equipped with certificates, or about 10 percent. ***8***
