Saudi Newspapers highlights importance of 29th GCC Summit

Riyadh, December 30, SPA -- Saudi newspapers editorially commented
today on the significance of the 29th summit of the leaders of the
Gulf Cooperation Council, which is now in progress in Muscat.


The papers said the convening of the summit comes at a time when the
region is passing through extraordinary circumstances.

Some of these newspapers continued their comments on the savage
attacks launched by Israel against Gaza and said this issue remains
on top of the Summit's agenda.

"Moreover, the Iranian issue still constitutes the great anxiety in
the region, because acquisition nuclear weapons by Iran will lead to
imbalance of powers and disability, " the newspapers felt.
