UAE economy minister, Slovenian prime minister discuss ways of expanding economic cooperation

LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA, 21st September 2015 (WAM) --- The UAE Minister of Economy, Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri, and Prime Minister of Slovenia, Miro Cerar, have discussed ways of expanding economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The UAE and Slovenia on Saturday signed an agreement for economic and technical co-operation with the aim of boosting bilateral co-operation in vital sectors.
Prime Minister Cerar stressed that his country's is keen on cementing bilateral relations with the UAE. He underscored the importance of economic, trade and investment cooperation as well as exchange of information and expertise to strengthen common interests.
He said the agreement reflects the sincere interest that the two countries take in expanding their cooperation in all fields in general, and in vital sectors in particular, as well as taking advantage of Slovenia's location in the heart of Europe and the UAE's location in the Middle East.
The Slovenian prime minister noted that UAE investments are welcome to all sectors in his country and that he will personally make sure that Emirati businesses and investors will have hassle-free access to facilities.
The entry of the UAE business community to Slovenia, he further noted, will make profits, thanks to the availability of investment opportunities in a large number of sectors and preferential treatment.
He said Slovenia is amending some laws to attract more foreign investments. "Investing in Slovenia provides a great opportunity for investing in the EU countries, in the Balkans in particular, as well as Russia and neighbouring countries."
For his part, Minister Al Mansouri, emphasised the UAE's interest in stronger cooperation with Slovenia in vital sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, investment, IT, innovation and industry.
He further stressed that the UAE is ready for sharing its world-class experience in operating ports and free zones with Slovenia to contribute to the country's growth and development.
Minister Al Mansouri conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to the Slovenian prime minister who asked Al Mansouri to convey to H.H.
