GCC Leaders conclude Second Closed-Door Session
Muscat, Oman, December 30, SPA -- The GCC Leaders ended here today
their second closed-door session under the chairmanship of Sultan
Qaboos of Oman.
During the session, the Leaders reviewed a number of topics on its
agenda including economic issues in the light of the developments
being witnessed by the world economy in addition to the fluctuations
of the oil prices at the international oil market as well as issues
pertaining to the gulf common market and means of activating the
mechanism of the market and the customs union.
The leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States also
reviewed the political developments in the Gaza strip following the
recent Israeli escalations, relations with Iran and the situation
between Pakistan and India.
The leaders reviewed the final communiqué and the Muscat
declaration.
The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates,
Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
