"In the Mantap Brata operation we plan to deploy two-thirds of the police force," national police chief General Bambang Hendarso Danuri said to newsmen in his year-end statement here on Tuesday.

The national police chief said general elections security operations would be carred out in stages. He said two-thirds of the police force would be deployed to secure the campaigning period, the cooling-down and voting periods while one-third of the force would be fielded to secure result announcement, seat distribution and oath-taking ceremony.
