Final communiqué of the 29th GCC summit issued 2 Muscat
The final communiqué of the summit said that the Supreme Council
congratulated Michel Suleiman on his election as the Lebanese
president.
The Supreme Council also congratulated Barack Obama on his election
as president of the United States of America, hoping his presidency
will contribute to achieving international security and peace.
On economy, the Supreme Council directed the concerned ministerial
committee to work for the stability of oil prices to achieve the
desired balance and the common interests of producing and consuming
countries.
On joint cooperation in the economic field, the Supreme Council
viewed reports on the implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques' proposal on accelerating performance and removing obstacles
hindering joint work and approved the proposed solutions in the
economic fields and directed the GCC concerned authorities to tackle
the obstacles in view of the proposed solutions to ensure their
removal by the end September 2009 at the latest, boost economic
integration and deepen the economic citizenship of GCC citizens.
