Final communiqué of the 29th GCC summit issued 9 Muscat
The Supreme Council asked Israel for a complete withdrawal from all
occupied arab territories in Palestine, Syrian Golan Heights and the
rest of the Lebanese occupied territories in South of Lebanon
according to the Security Council resolutions 425 and 426.
In this context, the Coucil expressed its wishes that Barack Obama
the elected president of the USA pays a maximum attention to the
Palestinian Cause and the Middle East peace process in order to
establish a viable Palestinian state living in coexistence and peace
beside Israel.
It stressed the importance of the message of Prince Saud Al Faisl,
currently the chairman of the Arab League's ministerial council, and
its Secretary General Amr Moussa, explaining the Arab position of the
latest developments of the Arab-Israeli conflict and confirming the
readiness of Arab States to realize a just, permanent and
comprehensive peace based on the principle of Land for Peace and Arab
Peace Initiative with its requirements.
GCC member states leaders were briefed by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al
Thani, Emir of Qatar, the Supreme Council Chairman of the previous
Summit (the 28th one), on his recent visit to the Islamic Republic of
Iran, which contributed in emphasizing the importance of constructive
dialogue to build confidence and strengthen relations between the GCC
member states and Iran in all fields, serving security and stability
in the region.
