GOVT EXTENDS EXPIRY OF SUNSET POLICY UNTIL FEBRUARY 2009
Jakarta, Dec 30 (ANTARA) - The government is extending the expiry of the abolition of tax sanction known as Sunset Policy from December 2008 to February 2009 to meet demands from the public.
"The expiry of Sunset Policy will be extended because many people have been asking for it, while suggesting the government to maximize the familiarization of the program throughout the country," minister of finance, Sri Mulyani, said at the presidential office here Tuesday.
According to the minister, the extension of expiry was approved because many people had yet to register themselves to enjoy the Sunset Policy as taxpayers.
"Therefore, the government decided to extend the Sunset policy until February, 2009," she said.
