EARTHQUAKE JOLTS MALUKU ON THURSDAY
Jakarta, Jan. 1 (ANTARA) - An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted Maluku on Thursday at 10.44 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
The quake's epicenter was located at 6.98 degrees southern latitude and 130.19 degrees eastern longitude, at a depth of 14 km below sea level, around 166 km northwest of Tual (Maluku), according to information of the national meteorological and geophysics office here on Thursday.
The temblor did not have potential to trigger a subsequent tsunami.
