Riyadh, January 02, SPA--Saudi newspapers focused in their editorials today on the Israeli continued brutal aggression on Gaza Strip.
In this regard, the papers asked why the international community
stands idle in front of non-stop genocidal war waged by Israel since
last Saturday against semi-unarmed Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.
Al-Madinah called on the world community to move quickly to remove
the specter of death from the skies of Gaza Strip, to stop the
aggression and blockade on this aggrieved people and to allow
humanitarian assistance to reach all towns and villages in the sector
without any hindrance.
Al-Watan pointed out that the draft resolution presented by Arab
countries to the Security Council failed in the pretext that it is
not balanced as described by a representative of a western country,
noting that the question arises how to turn this international
legitimacy and global just balances in our interest.
Al-Bilad emphasized the self-reliance without relying on external
forces, indicating that the next days will witness enough awareness
of all challenges, proper planning and promotion of potentials so
that we can cope with any emergency united.
Al-Jazeerah said that the UN Security Council adjourned without
voting on the Arab draft resolution, noting that opening the
discussion among the members of the UN Security Council and parties
to the conflict will allow the Arab delegation, led by Prince Saud
al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister, who will arrive in New York to
present the Arab position in all its dimensions.
Al-Yaum said that the Palestinian brothers should be assured that the
blood of innocent women and children is more precious and valuable
than any political differences and that the disaster requires an
understanding of the current situation and halting of bleeding,
destruction and killing.
On another topic, Al-Riyadh said all peoples of the world document
their historical heritage represented in a civilization process or a
popular heritage relating to social practices, but it is painful that
linking that life with the present , does not take the form of
academic documentation.
