High-tech police cars to hit Bahrain's roads

Manama, Nov.9 (BNA): A fleet of high-tech police cars and motorcycles will hit the roads in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The move follows the directives of the Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa to carry out a comprehensive strategy to modernise all security agencies. "The modernisation of the fleet meets the soaring number of cars and driving licences, the urban boom and the road network development", said General Directorate of Traffic director-general Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa. He said that the new value-added fleet of high-tech cop cars would enable the general directorate to better control the movement of cars and enhance traffic safety. He pointed out that the new patrols will further improve law enforcement for better safety environment for road users, especially reduction in accidents which are mostly caused by over-speeding.
