MANY N MALUKU PEOPLE READY TO BE SENT TO PALESTINE

Ternate, Jan 3 (ANTARA) - Many people in Ternate as well as in other regions in North Maluku have expressed readiness to go to Palestine as volunteers to fight Israeli aggression in that country.

"I am sad and very concerned to see the suffering of the Palestinians because of the Israeli military aggression. I am ready to be sent there as a volunteer," Ahmad Yani, a resident of Ternate, said here on Saturday.
So, if there are organizations or institutions in Jakarta or other places in Indonesia wishing to recruit volunteers for Palestine he hoped they would also take people from Ternate.
Another Ternate resident, Saifula, also expressed his readiness to go to Palestine as a volunteer, saying the UN is not reliable enough to be able to stop the Israeli attacks on Palestine.
He also said that the US that had so far positioned itself as the world police also could not be relied upon to stop the Israeli atrocity as it had so far even helped Israel.
"So, I think it is time for people from other countries who sympathize with the Palestinians to go to Palestine to help that country fight the Israelis," Saifula, who is also known as an Islamic activist, said.
The deaths of hundreds of Palestinians so far as a result of the Israeli attacks drew great sympathy from the people in Ternate who had collected donations for the Palestinians.
The funds sent through the local Prosperous and Justice Party chapter so far reached Rp39 million.
Several quarters in Ternate and other cities in the country's eastern province continued campaigning to boycott Israeli and US products as a form of protest against the Israeli aggression to Palestin
