SZI is home to the first-of-its-kind Minimally Invasive Paediatric Surgical Training Centre

The Sheikh Zayed Institute for Paediatric Surgical Innovation, SZI, at Children’s National Medical Centre in Washington D.C., is now home to the first-of-its-kind Karl Storz Centre of Excellence - Minimally Invasive Paediatric Surgical Training Centre. The centre, which completed its inaugural training session earlier this year, is part of the hospital's Sheikh Zayed Institute for Paediatric Surgical Innovation. The space is equipped with state-of-the-art surgical towers and instruments, reflecting the latest tools and techniques for minimally invasive paediatric surgery. Led by Tim Kane, MD, Chief of the Division of General and Thoracic Surgery, and Nancy Bauman, MD, Otolaryngologist, a minimum of four courses will be taught on an annual basis to fellows, interns, residents, and attending physicians.
