Mohamed bin Zayed and Putin discuss bilateral relations, regional issues

ABU DHABI, 19th November 2015 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces discussed yesterday in a telephone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, bilateral ties and ways to enhance them. Sheikh Mohamed affirmed the UAE's keenness to develop its relations with Russia in a way that will serve the interests of the two friendly countries. President Putin praised the special relations between the two countries in all fields. The two sides reviewed a number of issues relating to the latest regional developments, particularly the Syrian crisis. They also touched on current counter-terrorism efforts and the need for the international community to confront terrorist operations and the groups behind them. Sheikh Mohamed and President Putin also reiterated the keenness of the two countries to exert efforts aimed at supporting stability and security in the region and standing up in the face of extremism and terrorist groups, seeking to spread chaos and to undermine security.
