MORE ANTI-ISRAEL RALLIES IN JAKARTA ON MONDAY

Jakarta, Jan. 5 (ANTARA) - Since the Israeli military aggression in Gaza on December 27, 2008, anti-Israeli rallies have been taking place almost daily in Jakarta and other Indonesian cities.

On Monday (Jan 5), two anti-Israeli rallies were expected to be held in Jakarta , according to the Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center (TMC) here.
The first demonstration would be staged in front of the United Nations (UN) Representative's office on Jalan Thamrin to express disappointment over the UN's failure to stop the Israeli aggression.
The second rally would be organized in front of the Egyptian and Saudi Arabian embassies to urge the Arab countries to take stern measures against Israel and send their armies to Gaza to help Palestine fight against Israel.
Last Saturday (Jan 3) over ten thousand members of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) staged a rally in Jakarta to protest the Israeli military attacks in Gaza, which killed more than 460 Palestinians, including women and children, and injured around 2,300 others.
On Sunday (Jan. 4), thousands of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) members also held a rally in the Monas (National Monument) area to protest the Israeli aggression.
Anti-Israeli rallies were on Sunday also held in other Indonesian cities,such as in Garut, Cianjur, Cirebon, and Bandung (West Java), Lebak (Bnten Province), Surabaya and Bojonegoro (East Java), Yogyakarta, Purwokerto, Solo, Banyumas, Semarang, and Kendal (Central Java), Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan), Ujungpandang (South Sulawesi), Pangkalpingang (Bangka Belitung), Lampung (southern Sumatra), Padang, (West Sumatra), Medan (North Sumatra), Pekanbaru (Riau), Jambi (Jambi Province), and Palembang (South Sumatra).
