GM TO INVEST US$50 MILLION TO PRODUCE NEW VEHICLES IN RI

Jakarta, Jan 6 (ANTARA) - General Motors (GM) to invest at least US$50 million to produce new vehicles in Indonesia, its president director said.

"GM will invest no less than US$50 million to US$60 million, or even more. It will depend on the needed local components. Investment can even reach US$100 million," GM president director for Asia Pacific Region Nick Reilly said here on Monday.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of his visit to GM factory in Indonesia. He said that it was good for GM to have a factory in Indonesia.

Reilly said that in the past local components were not so good but now their quality now seemed to be increasingly good.
