RI CALLED ON TO QUIT UN

Bandung, W Java, Jan 7 (ANTARA) - About 200 activists grouped in the Muslims Corps (KAUM) organization held a rally in front of the West Java governor office here on Wednesday, asking Indonesia to quit the United Nations as an expression of solidarity to Palestine.

They called on Indonesia to quit the UN because they considered that the world body had increasingly become useless for the world peace.
"The United Nations could not do anything to prevent whatever Israel and the United States are willing to do. It could only send peacekeeping forces after the two countries have created chaos," KAUM coordinator Suryana Nurfatwa said.
The Muslims Corps groups various mass organizations, non-governmental organizations and activists, among others, from the workers forum of Indonesian aircraft industry (PTDI), Care-for Residents Forum, Reksa Wahana Citarum and other elements.
In its orations outside the West Java governor office, KAUM called on Indonesia to exert pressures on the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to do something for the world peace, in the Middle East in particular.
"If the OIC remains silent and does nothing for the Middle East peace, it should be better for Indonesia to quit the group and initiate the formation of a new organization ," he said.
On the occasion, KAUM also appealed to the people to boycott the United States' and other Israeli allies' products as a form of protest to the Israeli military aggression against Palestine
