Gulf Forum 2009 holds first session 2 Riyadh
Prince Turki Al Faisal went on to say that the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia's vision towards the Gulf regional security considers that the
security of the region is a collective responsibility of all its
countries, citing the call of Prince Saud Al Faisal, the Minister of
Foreign Affairs, during the Gulf Dialogue Forum held in 2004 in
Manama for building a collective security system of the Gulf region,
encompassing all its countries.
Then, the American Ambassador Ford Fraker delivered a speech in
which he confirmed that Middle East is one of the foremost priorities
of the agenda of the President-Elect Barrack Obama, noting that the
diplomacy of the new American Administration is active with many
unsolved issues and there is a strong management of the crisis
related the goals in Gaza.
As for the Iraqi cause, he said that consensus among Iraqi various
factions is a positive indication, auguring the departure of the
United States of America from Iraq, stressing the importance of
neighbor states in supporting Iraq's stability.
Fraker concluded his speech by concentrating on the keenness of the
United States of America on the continuation of its relationship with
Gulf Cooperation Council's member states and enhancing it during the
forthcoming new American administration.
