Premier receives Sudanese Foreign Minister

Manama, Jan. 23 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa underlined the importance for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Arab countries to start a new era of cooperation within the framework of unity in order to be able to face economic and security challenges and boost their capabilities to thwart attempts to undermine their security and stability. He was speaking as he received at Riffa Palace today Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ahmed Abdulaziz Ghandour who presented an official letter from Sudanese First Vice President General Bekri Hassan Saleh including an invitation to visit Sudan. HRH the Premier described the Arab union as people’s utmost aspiration to foster peace and stability. He praised strong fraternal relations between Bahrain and Sudan and growing bilateral cooperation regarding regional and international challenges. He also stressed Bahrain’s keenness to further cement ties between both countries and avail of the opportunities offered by Sudan mainly in the agricultural and livestock field. He also emphasised the importance of exchanging visits in further solidifying links and joint cooperation between officials from both countries. HRH the Prime Minister commended the stances of Sudan regarding regional and Arab issues which asserts its keenness on regional security and stability. The Sudanese minister conveyed to HRH the Premier the greetings of Sudanese President Marshal Omar Hassan Al-Beshir and his best wishes to Bahrain and its people of more progress and prosperity. He thanked HRH the Premier for the good welcome, lauding his keenness to promote bilateral relations and cooperation. He underlined his country’s support to all measures taken by Bahrain to preserve its security and stability, adding that his country’s participation in the Saudi-led Decisive Storm Operation in Yemen stems from Sudan’s keenness on regional security and stability. The minister emphasised the importance of HRH the Premier’s visit to Sudan in cementing ties binding the two brotherly countries, lauding his wisdom and keenness on boosting bilateral cooperation.
