Russia’s Energy Minister ready to participate in upcoming meeting of OPEC member-states in Feb

ST. PETERSBURG, January 28. /TASS/. Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak is ready to take part in the upcoming meeting of the OPEC and non-OPEC members in February though the question of its level hasn’t been solved yet.
"There is been an invitation to meet at the ministerial level. In fact, there is no final agreement yet. It will be held on the ministerial level if all ministers confirm (their participation) and in case they don’t (the meeting will be held) at the level of experts," Novak said on Thursday.
According to Novak, he is ready to participate in the upcoming meeting in February where the issue of reduction of crude output may be discussed.
Venezuela was one of the initiators of the meeting, the minister said. "We communicate with him (Venezuela’s energy minister) on the phone," he said, adding that Venezuela "has sent an official application to Qatar presiding in OPEC to convene such a meeting."
When answering the question whether it’s technically possible to cut crude output in Russia, Novak said: "This is an issue for a separate discussion. Let’s first discuss the issue of whether coordination is reasonable and whether all OPEC member-states that will be present at the meeting, are ready for this step, and then dwell upon specificities."
