Deputy premier receives EP delegation

Manama, Feb. 21 (BNA): Deputy Premier Jawad bin Salem Al Arrayed , the Chairman of Ministerial Legal Affairs Committee, on Sunday received a delegation from the European Parliament (EP) led by Mitchel Belfer, on the side-lines of the delegation's current visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain which comes at the official invitation of the Council of Representatives's speaker.
The deputy premier welcomed the EP delegation, asserting the importance of intensification of such visits to consolidate the ties with Bahrain's bi-cameral legislature and to exchange expertise and experiences as well as viewpoints regarding key regional and international issues.
Al Arrayedh informed the European parliamentary delegation about Bahrain's accomplishments since HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified the National Action Charter (NAC) conceded by 98.4% of the people in line with the ongoing democratic reforms that consolidated the State of Law and the Institutions, separation of authorities, Independent Judiciary, Human Rights and Liberties, uplifted Women's status as effective partners in the state and the community to build a modern state that is proud of its cultural heritage and that is open to human civilisations and cultures.
The deputy premier affirmed Bahrain's keenness on boosting its democratic experience, consolidating the cooperation bonds with sisterly and friendly countries and contributing to regional and international security, stability and peace. He added that the region's current gross risks necessitate the mustering of cooperation efforts by all countries.
The delegation members thanked the deputy premier for the good reception and hospitality, praising the development of Bahrain in all political, economic, rights and societal fields and affirming the importance of mutual legal and legislative cooperation.
